1) Buy Official Trash Bags (Volume-Based Bags)
- These are called “Jongnyangje Bags” (종량제 봉투).
- Sold at convenience stores and supermarkets.
- You must use these bags for general waste.
- Sizes vary (10L, 20L, 50L). Ask staff for help.
If you throw general trash in a normal bag, you may be fined.
2) Separate Food Waste
- Food waste is never put in general trash.
- Use the food waste bin in the apartment.
- Remove water before disposal.
- No plastic, bones, shells, or packaging inside.
- Some apartments use RFID food waste machines (you scan a card and pay by weight).
